Scope of the Seminar

The 58th ESReDA seminar will be a forum that aims to discuss theories, concepts, and experiences of enhancing the use of knowledge for better risk management and governance. This seminar will bring together researchers, practitioners, specialists and decision-makers to discuss strategies and practical experiences.

Contributions to the seminar are reviewed and 21 are accepted. Five invited lectures are also in the program. 


Papers for the seminar are received from various stakeholders, from practitioners to researchers (industrialists, regulators, safety boards, universities, R&D organisations, engineering contractors and consultants, training specialists)

Relevant dates, abstracts and papers submission:

Given the current Covid19 situation, the Seminar will be postponed till the beginning or mid of the next year. The TPC will update decision in early autumn depending how Covid19 pandemic evolves. 

- Submission of abstracts: closed. 

- Submission of final camera-ready papers: after summer (depending on final date) 2020 (template is available here).
- Registration for participation: after the summer 2020 (seminar info, tentative agenda).

- ESReDA Board of Directors and project groups’ meetings: a day before the Seminar.
- Seminar: either beginning or mid of 2021.
- First meeting of the new Risk, Knowledge and Management project group: either virtually in October 2020 or right after the Seminar (all are welcome to attend).

The language of the seminar is English.

Registration and Seminar Fee

The registration will be open online after summer 2020. For registration login iand month selection is necessary. Delegates will bear their own costs of travel and accomodation.
There is a registration fee waiver for participation in the Seminar (see here for more details).


The 58th ESReDA Seminar "Using Knowledge to Manage Risks and Threats: Practices and Challenges" is organised by ESReDA and JRC.
