The quarterly report on NPP events (July-September 2016) has been published


This newsletter provides feedback on Operating Experience (OE) from significant safety related events at nuclear power plants (NPPs) worldwide, every three months.

This Quarterly Report compiles the NPP events that were reported publicly during the period from 1st July to 30th September 2016.


5 events were selected from the short-list for this Newsletter, these are:

  1. 13/05/2016: High Pressure Coolant Injection Manually Overridden Prior to a Manual Scram During a Plant Transient. (US – SUSQUEHANNA 2)
  2. 05/04/2016: Coolant System Hot Leg Resistance Temperature Detector Wire Insulation Degradation. (US – DAVIS BESSE 1)
  3. 28/03/2016: Manual Reactor SCRAM Following Loss of Reactor Closed Cooling. (US – COLUMBIA)
  4. Tornado related vulnerabilities.
  5. Update about the manufacturing anomalies on French steam generators.
